Job Description:


The Director of Postgraduate Doctoral Programs is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative supports to students and faculty for the post-graduate doctoral programs (DAOM and transitional DACM) at ACTCM at CIIS, and provides other academic support as directed by the Academic Dean.


*Provides leadership to ensure administrative supports for the post-graduate doctoral programs.
*Collaborates with admissions office and works with faculty in recruitment strategies and outreach for ACTCM academic programs.
*Assures compliance with federal, state, city and accreditation agencies’ regulations, laws and guidelines.
*Collaborates with faculty and Academic Dean to promote a culture of research literacy for ACTCM educational programs.
*Collaborates closely with faculty and ACTCM’s academic leaders to integrate research into ACTCM’s clinical and educational programs.
*Collaborates with the ACTCM Academic Dean on hiring, retaining and evaluating DAOM and transitional DACM faculty.
*Oversees, and ensures that policies and procedures are maintained in the DAOM and transitional DACM programs.
*Collaborates with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Associate Dean on program data collection and ensure that the program achieves established educational goals and objectives.
*Creates and monitors the DAOM and transitional DACM program budgets.
*Coordinates the development and mentoring of capstone projects and case studies in the DAOM program.
*Provides supervision and support to the DAOM staff.
*Participates in the ACTCM Dean’s and Program Committees.
*Teaches twelve (12) units classroom courses per academic year.



*Master’s degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine field; Doctorate in AOM field is preferred.
*A minimum of fifteen years of academic administrative, supervisory, and management experience at an accredited or candidate program in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
*A minimum of fifteen years of experience in teaching AOM at an accredited or candidate program in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
*A commitment to innovation, improvement and student-centered engaged learning.
*Ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, staff and the public.
*Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Photoshop, and academic software.
*Experience with managing the content of academic program website pages.
*Well-organized, attentive to detail, and able to meet deadlines.
*Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Salary commensurate with skills and experience.


*Working Conditions — Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday through Friday.
